whispers of snow
today was my first ski trip ever.
^^ slept at 4 woke up at 8 rushed breakfast. curi a few doughnuts. went to northwood and waited half an hour (msian time) there for the drivers to arrive.
so while waiting... took a few pics here's where i'm gonna stay next year lor. thats youning and christine
and me. was trying to see what it felt like without my winter jacket. acutally its not that bad without windchill la. (or i got enuff natural insulation hehe) but neway it was -4 deg C that time. pretty warm. michigan standards. oo thats my roxy sweater sylvia and sheau wen helped me pick out. not new la but only now then i intro. 20 USD. dunno if thats supposed to be cheap or expensive.
then the cars arrived! i sat in front.. ended up 'helping' with directions. hrm... mebbe thats why we had to turn back like twice. :( nola im quite a good navigator ok (blaming the road signs). ok so we started from 1586 Murfin Avenue and we went to... Pine Knob Ski Resort. almost 2 hours later. there we are.
2 guys and one snowboard. with snowboard is khairul who helped me save hui ying's glove. will elaborate in a bit. hrm for those curious. it cost us 36 bucks to rent the ski stuff and then get passes for the.. whatchacallit... neh the things below that bring us to the top. (OMG my brain stopped functioning T.T) neway then ermm we can choose either snowboard or skis. skis are easier to get the hang of. but easier to sustain injury. *thats what shuen said lor* cause.. imagine... splitting la. or you cross over your skis la then terbalik. and everything. snowboards are harder to use but i think more fun. im gonna snowboard next year!

first we tried out the beginners hill. haha we had some belt thingie we got on and our skis got stuck onto it and it brought people up the hill. kewl wei. thats where i fell down at last. *MALU* haha. was before we had to leave and i wanted to go up one more time then i got onto that thing, somehow slipped and since its a belt errr my legs got carried up but i was on the snow. and the guy had to stop the whole thing to let me up.
this belt la.
then to the second highest hill we rode this lift thing. this is when i dropped the glove. this lift thing is really annoying to get off off. :(
you can also get up by holding onto these ropes and you slide up with it. pretty tricky business hehe cause its slippery.
heres the top of everything. its SO SO SO windy there wei! the snow hits on your face. like esvina said one time .... hahah 'getting slapped by the snow' when you get down your face is all pink.
this is where i got my first fall. wahh i ll remember it. i went off track and headed to the tree area and went plop on the ground and got me a cramp one one leg SOMEHOW. darnnit. then i took off my skis and climbed back up. tiring wei.
see that dot. THATS hui ying's glove. tried skiing over to grab it but i havent learnt how to stop yet haha

wow so much fun, i can relate mostly with the falling part, the one part i get good at when i start stuff like this...

hehehe oh wells.
so much FUN!!!!!! skiing.. i remembered learning how to ski. I was the BEST student - for falling that it. everyone went down the bunny hill perfectly; and the next thing you know, i go flying down the hill and the only thing I was good at was falling. So I fall! Lolz... i probably embarrassed myself a lot that day! But it was such a good experience...
Well, hope you had a good time skiing.. something to be treasured eh?
